all-rating comparison survey summary

Core Health Technologies is first and foremost an unbiased, vendor-neutral Health Information Technology solutions partner. The primary manner in which we assist customers is through installing, implementing, updating, upgrading, and migrating their Healthcare Information Technology Integration Engine — however, we also help advise many customers in selecting their engine to begin with. That’s why we’ve come up with this survey, collected brutally honest feedback from over 200 HIT professionals, and sharing it with you — free of charge.

In relation to the 2015 HL7 Interface Engine Ratings Survey, we have concluded that Corepoint remains the preferred IE in all areas, with the exception of Cost of Ownership. Interestingly, compared to 2015’s rankings, the deviation between engines is significantly less in all areas, with the exception of Cost of Ownership, which plummeted from an average of 71% to 56%, indicating much higher competition between engines. Though still not a crowd favorite, Ensemble has managed to dramatically climb in rankings. In fact, Ensemble is #2 in meeting customers’ needs at 94%, and is also #2 in additional features at 84%, support and services at 82%, vendor versus partner at 82%, and finally, surpassed Rhapsody’s spot as #3 in stability and scalability. Good work, Ensemble!

Mirth remains in last place in 8 out of the 9 categories, but first place in cost of ownership. It appears that the old adage is true — you get what you pay for. Mirth went from the 3rd highest cost of ownership, to the least — from 69% to 36%, while Rhapsody went from the highest at 76% to the 2nd lowest at 56%. All the while, Corepoint continues to leave the rest in the dust. Customer feedback remains pretty consistent from 2015, as well. “The Corepoint Integration Engine is a powerful tool that is intuitive and easy to learn to use. The customer service and technical support offered by this company is the best I’ve encountered in the Health IT industry. It is not surprising that this solution has become so dominant in the HL7 integration space.” This comment pretty much says it all.
